Raekwon and Nas: Rich & Black – Video:

Fresh off the LRG train, Raekwon and Nas team up for the video to “Rich and Black,” which 1. looks like it was a lot of fun to shoot and 2. proves that Nas is really sounding hungry right now. The newest single from the criminally slept on Shaolin vs. Wu Tang project, it gives you just a taste of how amazing this album really is.
Now I need to know why this isnt playing on MTVJams. Hrrrrm.

Enjoy, dammit.

I didnt know that The Cool Kids had a date on their new album. Or that its dropping like, next week. LoL.
Swipe from the kids over at Potholes. Because they’re awesome and I’m lazy.

The Cool Kids are back promoting their July 12 release, When Fish Ride Bicycles. Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish look to come together on an 11 track, playground four square battle, chock-full of cherry bombs and Pharrell beats. For now the duo swirly the N.E.R.D.’s production, “Summer Jam”, featuring Star Trak soul-singer Maxine Ashley. It follows the summer track formula: catchy drum pattern, stabbing guitar and smooth e-piano. It’s a glass of icy lemonade at 100 degrees outside with Neptunes flavor. “Gas Station”, has a Southern a la Outkast, Killer Mike, and Dungeon Family feeling. The track helps itself by adding UGK’s Bun B to the mix. Both songs are easy listening, cool kid, summer anthems. Stay chill in the heat by listening to these tracks. [via]

Hit the skip to stream the tracks.

Enjoy.

Please pay attention to @TheKidDaytona and Styles P BEASTING on this "Lifted" Track. PLEASE.

Winner.

I love The Kid Daytona. If you missed my first music video appreciation post, go back and watch it now. Certified and official; Your boy just might be The Truth and The Future. Finding a way to break into my usual rotation of Dee-1, Stalley, and the usual Nas and Damian Marley love, I am absolutely ENTHRALLED with this dudes entire style right now. Straight off his new “The Interlude” LP and featuring Styles P (who just keeps getting iller), its drenched in gloriously thick,  boombappy wonderousness, lightly sprinkled with beautiful piano riffs and chords in the background, and horn section that leaves you feeling like you’re on a cloud, this is simply a wonderfully orchestrated song dedicated to the appreciation of engaging in the smoking and inhaling of herbal substances; possibly NOT for medicinal purposes.

If that didnt convince you, then 1. Oh boy. 2. I need you… as a Tribe Called Quest fan. Please. Listen to Contemplation. He did what I’ve been wanting to do my whole life… rap over A Tribe Called Quest’s “For Moms.” OMG. 3. Listen to Learn; my new current theme song.

But then again, you could just go download the whole mixtape and do yourself some good.

Find the links, and enjoy.

Radiohead: Staircase – Under The Stairs. Amazing Live Footage.

I’m mad this has been out for a minute, and I’m just now finding it. I’m even more mad that one of you didnt tell me all of this live musical awesome was going on. Taken from their “King Of Limbs” project and featuring several amazing musicians whose names escape me right now,  this live version of “Staircase” basically shows you why Radiohead is more talented than your current top 10 favorite artists put together, frankly. The older they get… the more musically powerful they become. AWESOME.

Welp, I’ll be watching this for the rest of the night. Hit the Like button or Retweet this awesomeness.
You Enjoy.

You know that awesome song in that Trident Commercial? It's an even better Music Video.

Hello.

Yeah. So surprisingly enough, I am not opposed to this fairly poppy, euro dance song that magically popped up in my life recently. Or its supporting music video. Both are somewhat amazing and creative enough to keep my attention for a long amount of time. Martin Solveig, whos always good for the duet, teams up with Dragonette and her vocals. The result is non annoying party music. Mix that with an intriguing Music Video with an interesting (and fairly questionable) ending… and you have an all around win with me.

(Also, did anyone ePlay Motion commercial for wii or xBox? I think someone just got copyright jacked. But we’ll see.)

Too Cute.

Enjoy.

Wonderful time with a great woman and performer, it was.
Picking up the tickets for 1iota and bringing some friends along for the ride, I headed over to Hollywood and Highland for an awesome free concert from Jill Scott. Since it would be my first time seeing her in live format since the “A Long Walk” tour over 7 years ago… I was curious and a bit geeked to see what she would have in store and how she would sound live on these tracks. And as usual, Ms. Scott does not disappoint. Although only given 4 to 5 song set to keep us impressed and entertained, Jill added on two extra songs just for us. Singing “Shame” (you can see that below), So Blessed (a new, NICE track), Golden, Gimme, It’s Love, and A Long Walk… I have to say. Its the best free concert I’ve been to in a while.

Thanks for a great time, Ms. Scott.

Check the video below for more, and enjoy.

Mary Mary consistently make hits in the name of the Lord. I have no negative qualms with this.

I'm walking too!

I love Mary Mary. I have for a while. They are greatness. Shoutout to Yolanda Adams, by the way.
So why cant the sacred mix with the secular and party in the name of the Lord? Imagine all the youth that would find love in the lord as a result of music that was universal to everyone. As long as his name is glorified and respected at all times, I have absolutely negative qualms with this.

Then again, I’m not Christian. So yeah, I understand. But songs like Mary Mary’s “I’m Walking” in all of its inspirational glory in the name of the Lord… is the stuff that makes me wish I was.

Encouraging and uplifting music that reminds you that God is Good.
I think thats awesome.
Amen.
