Von Pea announces New Tanya Morgan Project; "You & What Army?!" I geek out inside.

While we’re pointing out Twitter announcements, dont know if I’m allowed to point this one out but considering Von Pea announced it a few days ago and I’ve just been running behind on getting to all the musicawesomes in my life… I might as well point out more new music coming from Tanya Morgan, my favorite boys.
Now when a musician says September, that usually means a month or two after that. Regardless, after that “Without Hands” track they just dropped, I’m just happy to know that theres more good music on the way.

Click on the links for more, and enjoy.

A more condensed, much more random extension of Music Nerdery and a result of securing Kaki King’s name on Tumblr, I just hopped on tumblr because everyone keeps nagging me about it. So here you go. The New Music Nerdery Tumblr (yeah I should update, I know. One thing at a time). Go ahead and follow it, I will follow you back. Make sure you know about the Twitter page too, as well as the new Definition Page. You’ll know when you read it.

Yay! Social Media!

I love you, Potholes In My Blog. When I’m slippin, you’re right there with a musical cushion to catch me.

For the first single off their newest album (which also made Potholes Most Anticipated Albums of 2011 list), MMJ kinda leave behind their trademark Pedaled-Up technique andΒ  take you on a 7 minute melody changing, bluegrass and country influenced, uptempo little journey that somehow leaves you wanting more even, though you just spent a good chunk of your time with it. Hard to pull off nowadays… but easy for these kids who are on their 99th album already (no not really. But you know what I mean).

You can right click-save as right here to download, or just click it to enjoy. (OOOOOh. I’m learnding MacBook. LOL).

So In Love with This Song.

Direct jack move from Johnathan and his eternal cool over at the new HipHopIsCoolAgain.com… Jill releases the second single from the SUPER-Anticipated “The Light of The Sun.” A classic, breezy sounding, summer-influenced, two-steppin soul jammy-jam, Jill and Anthony groove together perfectly to make a great little uptempo joint you can play at the family/4th of July Barbeque. Love, love, LOVE this single… hope it gets a video treatment soon.

If you missed it: Jill Scott settles with Hidden Beach; Possible New Album on the way.

YAY NEW MUSICS

If you missed it = I missed it, so you might have not seen it yourself. So here you go.

In classic Jill Scott fashion, it looks like she has privately resolved the ongoing legal issues with her label, Hidden Beach Records. It began when Hidden Beach filed their suit against Jill, claiming that she still owed them Several Albums. Jill counter sued, Claiming the ability to dissolve contract via California 7-Year Clause. Just when you thought this wasn’t going to end well, Jill pops up on the Essence Music Festival dates, the album title “The Light Of The Sun” pops up (I’m late tho), and she quietly settles out of court with terms of the agreement kept confidential. Hey. Whatever you need to do to get moving. I’ve heard you’re going all the way in with the new album, cant wait to hear where your heart is at right now. Good luck with everything.

(This song still hits a fu*king nerve. Got me feeling some kinda way about something.)
