I didnt know that The Cool Kids had a date on their new album. Or that its dropping like, next week. LoL.
Swipe from the kids over at Potholes. Because they’re awesome and I’m lazy.

The Cool Kids are back promoting their July 12 release, When Fish Ride Bicycles. Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish look to come together on an 11 track, playground four square battle, chock-full of cherry bombs and Pharrell beats. For now the duo swirly the N.E.R.D.’s production, “Summer Jam”, featuring Star Trak soul-singer Maxine Ashley. It follows the summer track formula: catchy drum pattern, stabbing guitar and smooth e-piano. It’s a glass of icy lemonade at 100 degrees outside with Neptunes flavor. “Gas Station”, has a Southern a la Outkast, Killer Mike, and Dungeon Family feeling. The track helps itself by adding UGK’s Bun B to the mix. Both songs are easy listening, cool kid, summer anthems. Stay chill in the heat by listening to these tracks. [via]

Enjoy.

Well thats a win.

Wow. Bundle Up (Click Here). That Epic Minimalist 80s Hip Hop that I LOVE (thanks potholes).

After FINALLY getting off that bullshit Chocolate label, horrible contract they were on and moving up to Green Label Sound, it looks like this is the lead off single from their aptly and awesomely titled “When Fish Ride Bicycles.” I can’t wait. I’ve been waiting for something in full from these boys after seeing them go on right before The Noisettes at Detour Festival 2007. We need more hip hop like this. FUN.

Pennies. What Up Man. Black Mags. 88. Knocked Down. These dude have a legacy of feeding that old school hip hop revival sound that seems to be hot right now. And I can’t WAIT for them to get back to this full-time. Good luck boys.

Travis Barker is releasing A Solo Album. I'm mad no one told me about this until now.

Dope.

Not only does he have a Feature packed album due, Its been due for a little while and had been pushed back 6 month from its original date to February. While I’ve already seen one of the videos he directed and produced with The Cool Kids (ended up being his first single), I just attributed it to him being Travis and always being on everyone’s music. I can’t believe I’m just now figuring this out. But please believe it; I’ll be keeping an ear out for this sh*t from this point on.

Peace to Travis Barker. One of the hardest working men in the Music Industry today with one of the kindest hearts. An amazing career that includes almost 10 different bands, and 15 years of playing and being in the scene (on its way to 20 at this point), he could have one of the most diverse Musical Discographies of any Modern Drummer I’ve known (excluding Questlove). He has found and acceptance and respect within the Rock and Metal Community for his own work, and has been welcomed into Hip Hop culture with open arms for his powerful beats and ability to reproduce any hip hop beat you give him flawlessly. He is the Lil’ Wayne of Rock Drummers… he knew they way to keep his career alive was to diversify, keep different music bands and outlets at all times, and continue to hop on everyone’s sh*t. And aside from his music… dude has to be one of the strongest, most endearing human beings to grace the planet. From the loss of his mother early in life, to surviving a Plane Wreck… he is a testament to what happens to great people who work hard and keep their head up regardless of situations and circumstances. I genuinely liked this dude; always have.

The New Album, called “Give The Drummer Some” (awesome) is now slated for February 2011. And I cant wait. Confirmed apperances on the album? Linkin Park, RZA, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Game, Raekwon, Slash, Lupe Fiasco, Swizz Beatz, B.o.B, Beanie Sigel, Bun B, Tech N9ne, Corey Taylor of heavy metal group Slipknot, and Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine. Thats a lotta talent on one album. Hopefully it all goes well. Good luck to you; I’ll be supporting this.

For now, find his mixtape with DJ AM (I miss you dude), and enjoy the videos below.
