That Nas leak from the new "Life Is Good" Album… it definitely does NOT suck.

Again… short sweet and to the point. When I got done running errands, doing some work on the internets and cooking dinner, It looks like Nas (or someone) leaked a brand new track (possibly the lead single, wouldn’t be mad) to the internets for us to review. And I have to tell you… this does NOT suck in the least. Not at all. As in, I’m geeked to see what else this dude comes out with. Nas is back to “Nasty.”

With a HEAVY 80s influence, dope break beats, and everything that ever made me happy as a kid growing up in hip hop, Nasty Nas is basically letting you know hes back. And its GREAT times.

Since Haiku player is acting a bit funny right now… just go ahead and listen/download the link by clicking here. And spread the word. This is nice.
*Update: Or just use the player I got going for you right here.

No. Really.

You knew I was getting a picture of this.

Upon seeing this on a Country Music Compilation Album commercial on CMT (I was watching World’s Strictest Parents), I had to investigate more and see if this song actually happened. Surprisingly enough, it did. Over a year ago.  And it’s not a horrible song. Heavily Hip Hop Influenced, but done country-style, It’s actually filled with decent Folk Rock grooves and musical LOLs for all.

Since YouTube continues to be Video Nazis, You can click here to watch the original video or check the lyric one by clicking here. After you’re done with that one, check the original version by clicking here.

LOL. I’m mad this song is at least a year old, and I’m just now finding it.
Country Music is Awesome.

Enjoy.

I'm late to the party, but Dennis Ferrer + Shingai Shoniwa = The Way + The Light.

Winner.

I can’t believe this came out last year. I cant believe I had no ideal that this kind of epic existed. I’m genuinely angry that NO ONE told me about this previously. And now, I have to play the sh*t out of this song like it isn’t already a year old.

Consisting of the amazing talents of Dennis Ferrer and the POWERFUL vocal gifts of Ms. Shingai Shoniwa of The Noisettes… this song is a great example of what all other music should sound like. LoL.

With the music video set against the intense background of a relationship torn apart over affairs of the heart… Dennis and Shingai sing about that one moment in time where you knew you were wrong… but really, didn’t want to be right.

I don’t need to explain.
Watch… enjoy… get your dance on.

Get Better Chi.

Yup, they are back, and they are going harder than ever.

Deftones, a grammy nominated Hard Rock/Metal band hailing from Sacramento, California, are back with their new album due 5.18.2009, called “Diamond Eyes.” This project is the first since their bassist, Chi Cheng, was severely injured in a car accident about 18 months ago. Since then, the band has regrouped, refocused, and found their way back into the studio for their new Project.

Yesterday, they went ahead and posted up the first single from the new album, called “Rocket Skates.” High in energy, laced with power rock chords, and Chino’s trademark screamsinging, the new track is reminiscent of their work on “White Pony….” which should be good news to their hardcore fans. You can go to their myspace to download, or you can just get the download right here.

Enjoy. And good luck, Deftones.

Music Win.

I’ve been obsessed with this song for a while. Done in a simplistic, yet beautiful kaleidoscope style, and set up against my FAVORITE shade of purple… Erykah and Wayne take you through a soulful song intertwined with hip hop tendencies. Before she ends her little hypnotic visual project… she reminds you to free Lil’ Wayne, who managed to show up for the video shoot before starting his prison sentence. Good Man.

Erykah is fairly awesome for several reason. Besides the amazing ability to sound current and fresh no matter when and where she drops, I once pointed out to her (via twitters) that Lil’ Wayne had blatantly shouted her out in his hit, “A Milli.”
Seems like she went and did this.

Not the first time either. I once pointed out that My Morning Jacket used her song “Tyrone” on their demo album… a key song that helped them get signed… supposedly, it showed huge musical diversity on their part, which gave them the upperhand.

Then she went and did this.

(Wow. yeah. that actually deserves a blog, really.)

So basically, you listen to your fans. Which means more than you’ll ever know. So now I must nerd it up for you forever.

Between this and Window Seat…. I’m so in love. Not that my love for this woman ever stopped.

Ima say it like I said it on twitter:
dear erykah badu. you can do nothing wrong. not even that whole common situation. and i am a common stan. amazing. i didn’t think this was possible.
your personal & eternal namesaked stan,
ericka.

enjoy.
