Yay!

Finally making my dreams come true, Stalley brings his music and talents to the Southern California area with a show at The Terrace around the corner in Pasadena. Usually the ill sushi lunch spot, Terrace transforms into a pretty dope music spot once in a while after dark. And this looks like it should be fun. Maybe I can get him to do “Milk and Honey” Live for me and ask him about that evil comment about the Lakers and their fans. LMAO.

You can check out all my previous nerdery regarding Stalley by clicking here… and hopefully I’ll see you at the show.

Radiohead: Staircase – Under The Stairs. Amazing Live Footage.

I’m mad this has been out for a minute, and I’m just now finding it. I’m even more mad that one of you didnt tell me all of this live musical awesome was going on. Taken from their “King Of Limbs” project and featuring several amazing musicians whose names escape me right now,  this live version of “Staircase” basically shows you why Radiohead is more talented than your current top 10 favorite artists put together, frankly. The older they get… the more musically powerful they become. AWESOME.

Welp, I’ll be watching this for the rest of the night. Hit the Like button or Retweet this awesomeness.
You Enjoy.

Meant to post this a little while back with The Roots at The Playboy Jazz Festival joints, but I’ve been real busy with work and helping friends pack. But I definitely wanna get this up for you to see. Along with Black Thought doing a little of “Walk Alone” for us to see, He also was ill enough to freestyle over that new Kid Daytona “On The Hill” that everyone knows I love. Go ahead and check the footage below.

Enjoy.

So remember when I told you about The Roots headlining the Playboy Jazz Festival? Yeah, I made it out. And here is all the awesome proof.

By the way… check out Slidedeck. Its the truth and the future. I know the photos dont fit into the format yet (still working on it), but if you want to see the picture in full, all you have to do is click on it and it will take you to the full photo.

Also, an interesting interview with Questlove regarding The Roots leading such a prominent jazz festival. I mean, since The Legendary are basically a Jazz Band that do hip hop, I don’t understand what the problem is. Yeah, some of the 60+ got up and left… but they were like, 60. No offense. (And thanks euroweb for featuring my video.)

But really, the YouTubes should give you an ideal of what a fun time it was. Everything I have is up on my YouTube page for you to see.
The best part? The Gil Scott-Heron Cover of “The Bottle” with Terrance Blanchard on the horns. Wow.
Second to that… the lead in from Bob James and Fourplay doing “Westchester Lady,” which led right to The Roots set. Dopeness.

The Roots and Terrance Blanchard: Gil Scott-Heron’s “The Bottle”

….The start of the show… Bob James and Fourplay do “Westchester Lady” before The Roots tear the roof off.

…and here we go.

..and there you go. I didn’t even go to this thing with the intent of recording. I was on my 3rd glass of chardonnay. So its not the greatest stability in the camera. But I hope you semi-enjoy.

ACOUSTICAL NOMS

So Kaki King officially started her tour off  yesterday evening in New York at MOMA’s Guitar Innovators Event to a great turnout. But before she rocked the socks off of MOMA guests, Kaki made a quick stop by WNYC (NPR Music for us westcoasters) for a nice acoustic show and interview that gives you insight to the tour, and what she has been up to lately. You can go ahead and CLICK HERE to download the Edmann-provided link. It’s the entire show tagged and listed correctly for your listening and organizing pleasure. And its pretty awesome.

Meanwhile, in nerdtastic stat-counting land, it came to my attention that Kaki has just passed the 5 Million Plays mark on last.fm. Pretty big deal, considering when I first got there, she had all of 25,000 plays. Its come a really long way.

Anyways, check the updated tour dates here, and have fun.
