The new Jean Grae Mixtape does not suck at all. Download:

Jean Grae, one of the illest females to ever do it and not receive any credit for it, finally refocuses on her music and releases a fairly decent mixtape for us all to enjoy. I havent even listened to it all the way through yet and “Cookies or Comas” is already pretty certifiable at this point. But then again, its Jean Grae.

While we’re pointing out Twitter announcements, dont know if I’m allowed to point this one out but considering Von Pea announced it a few days ago and I’ve just been running behind on getting to all the musicawesomes in my life… I might as well point out more new music coming from Tanya Morgan, my favorite boys.
Now when a musician says September, that usually means a month or two after that. Regardless, after that “Without Hands” track they just dropped, I’m just happy to know that theres more good music on the way.

Click on the links for more, and enjoy.

When Rick Ross reached out to and signed the overly talented Teedra Moses to his ever expanding Maybach Music Label, I was cautiously excited to see where it went… and how long it was going to take to get some new music out of her. Impressive to say the least, Teedra drops an impressive EP within a few weeks of signing. Great sign of her getting down to work, After downloading and thoroughly investigating said EP/Mixtape, I can basically guarantee that its worth your time. Click here to catch the download, and enjoy.

Unexpected Win.

Always finding new and impressive ways to up and surprise me, Mayer Hawthorne comes through with his latest project, “Impressions: The Covers” EP. Filled with with wonderful covers of everyones old school favorites, like ‘(I got) Work To Do, ‘Fantasy Girl,’ and ‘You’ve got the Makings of a Lover,’ Mayer is basically establishing his talents and dominance in the awesome niche of Retro Soul, and music overall. And its free. So there’s really no losing involved in any of this right now. Unless you dont download it.

This boy is good, I’m a believer after this little joint. As If I wasnt before.

Anyways, you can download the EP in full by heading here. Break it open on Sunday morning, get your breakfast game on, sit down and listen to this, and enjoy.

They're back. Good Times.

Just when I started to wonder where The Duke Spirit had run off to,
they up and surprise me with a short, yet sweet new EP titled “Kusama.” 4 songs deep and to the point (“Everybody’s Under Your Spell” being a clear favorite), The Duke Spirit give you just enough to let you know they are still at it… and leave you wanting more. The way it should be.

With them coming to LA in the next few weeks, and hints at a new tour in the works… It looks like its time to start watching these kids again.

Download the new EP here, tell me what you think; enjoy.
