Kenny Keil makes you LOL.

Kenny Keil makes you LOL.

So remember a few months back when I featured my friend Kenny Keil’s Hip Hop Comic Book Covers in a post that I did (click here if you dont remember)? Then remember when I sat him down for an awesome interview to find out more about his awesome? Well… it gets even better. Kenny has finally made it to the big time, having his well drawn, LoL-filled comics featured in the LEGENDARY Mad Madagize (Issue #509). How awesome is this? I bought two copies just because I’m a nerd like that.

Hopefullly I’ll have some more time to sit with Kenny in the future and figure out how all this amazing happened to him. Hopefully he’ll still have time for me now with all this famousness going on. Until then, check out the photo (you knew I had to get one) and enjoy. 🙂

Congrats Kenny. I always knew you were awesome.

Seriously. Reggie Watts is Kinda Awesome and Hilarious all at once.

I’m really quite sad that I waited til the last-minute to try to score some tickets to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre to see Reggie Watts tonight. When he did this awesome little sketch on Conan last night, they were still available. By the time it was off and I woke up the next morning, they were gone. And I was sad.

Welp, I’ll just have to watch this repeatedly to make me feel better. You should watch it too. Hopefully he’ll get back to LA soon. Please do man.

The Beyonce Dip at the end is what made me happy inside.

*Update: Someone made an MP3 of this epic victory. They took out the short sketch in the beginning, but we have the full song. Click here to download and enjoy.

The “Bill Nye The Science Guy Music Video Remixes” Appreciation Post.

with 5 comments

Get better and get some rest dude, whatever's going on.

*Update:
Seems as if it was exhaustion that has Bill Nye stumbling a bit. So hopefully he’ll get some sleep, have a great meal, slow down a bit, and relax.

Until Then, this has officially become The “Bill Nye The Science Guy Music Video Remixes” Appreciation Post.

Enjoy it like its 1996 and you’re in science class again.

One of my friends was at USC when Bill Nye seemed to take ill and pass out. Paramedics took Mr. Nye to the closest hospital and the family says he’s well. So now I hope hes getting some rest.

Heres the first valid link I could find on it:

whatever going on… I hope you’re okay. You made me love Science, so I will always love you.

Get better soon, and get back to being awesome.
And someone find me his show on DVD, please.

And then, this suddenly became a Bill Nye The Science Guy Music Video Appreciation Post. Turns out someone has the majority of his Music Video Remixes online. Praise PBS Jebus.

Dude, get better. We need you.

Fam. OMG.

He actually got PUSA to come thru for the remix fams. Legendary.

(Man. This is why I love you and that show. We need you back on TV. ASAP)

Tenacious D is Pretty Awesome.

with 2 comments

So Cool.

Sound: Hard Rock and Comedy mixed together in beautiful harmony.

Album: Tenacious D (2001), Pick Of Destiny(2006)

Why?
You never thought comedy could sound so awesome. You didn’t know that Jack Black was this talented. Or that Kyle Gass is a genius on the guitar. I’m sure you didn’t know that Dave Grohl co-signed the awesome with his signature drum work. Or that the Dust Brothers also co-signed the awesome by lending their trademark production technique to their album. But its all true. And its only HALF the reason you should hive this band some of you’re time.

Tenacious D, also known as “The D” and “The Greatest Band In The World,” formed many moons ago when Jack and Kyle’s  met in Edinburgh, Scotland during the Edinburgh Fringe of 1989. Both were members of the Los Angeles-based theatre troupe, The Actors’ Gang which was performing Tim Robbins and Adam Simon’s play Carnage.

They are known as a two (sometimes three) man band with Kyle on the drums and Jack on vocals. Now I know what you’re thinking. “Jack Black prolly can’t sing for sh*t,” right? WRONG. Not only can Jack hold a note… but he can actually sing. Like, “Sangin” type-singing. On songs like “WonderBoy,”Hard Fu*king” and “City Hall,” you hear that not only is he funny… but this vocals are on point as well. Kyle Gass is not only a legendary comedian in his own right, but he’s pretty badass on the guitar strings. Frankly, I was a little thrown by how amazing his guitar skills are. Not only can this man pound out powerful rock chords like in Master Exploder, but he can turn it around and his you with that traditional classical guitar sytle… done perfectly on their song, “Classico.”

Taking on epic topics like their perceived sexual prowless, being rock stars and their usage of cannibus, The D crafts together some of the most well written well played, yet stupidly hilarious music you have ever seen in your life. For example… the legendary song, “The Government Totally Sucks,” and the ‘you need to take this band seriously’  song, “Master Exploder.”

(Filmed on Venice Beach. That was a fun day.)

Still waiting on word of a new album, but if I hear anything, I’ll let you know. Until then, download and enjoy.
