When Rick Ross reached out to and signed the overly talented Teedra Moses to his ever expanding Maybach Music Label, I was cautiously excited to see where it went… and how long it was going to take to get some new music out of her. Impressive to say the least, Teedra drops an impressive EP within a few weeks of signing. Great sign of her getting down to work, After downloading and thoroughly investigating said EP/Mixtape, I can basically guarantee that its worth your time. Click here to catch the download, and enjoy.

Here. Shut Up Kianga. 🙂

You should already know, but if I don’t tell you this or post it up, Kianga will disown me. Like I told you she would here. Basically, built around Nas’ certified Hip Hop classic “Illmatic,” Elzhi sonically demonstrates why he is the best thing to come out of whats LEFT of Slum Village.

Click here to get it from XXL and whatnot.

Enjoy.

Hyping up the already extended wait for his first solo album, Travis Barker teams up with DJ Whoo Kid to create the fairly awesome “Let The Drummer Get Wicked” mixtape to tease you just a little bit more.

Taken from RadioPlanet.tv:

Along with Kanye and Jay-Z‘s “H.A.M.” remix, appearances are bananas on this one – Lil Wayne, The Game, The Clipse, J. Cole, Royce da 5’9, Lupe Fiasco, Lloyd Banks, Fabolous, Wyclef, Jim Jones, Wiz Khalifa, Tony Yayo, Big K.R.I.T., Wacka Flocka, Tech N9ne, Killa Kyleon, Too $hort, Big Sean, 36 Mafia and Xzibit! POW!

Check out the behind-the-scenes from The Clipse, Travis Barker and DJ Whoo Kid filming their new video with Dan The Man in L.A.! The full-length music video will debut this afternoon on RadioPlanet.tv! Stay Tuned!

So yeah. There you have it. The reviews make it sound decent, and I’m downloading as we speak. Click here for the download… and head to their site for the video.

So The Best of the West combine to make some nice hip hop tracks. After teaming up with The Beatnuts (and maybe Chino XL), ZOOLAY is hard at work creating another nice mixtape for you to review. You go download that, I’ll post up what little videos they have (work on that guys, social media director is YELLING at you) for you to enjoy.

p.s. The boys ARE looking for a Videographer to get their youtube game up a bit. If your down… holler at their twitter account. They’d love to meet up with you.

Family, this Stalley Mixtape is Motherfu*king Stellar. Links.

I usually don’t like blogging about popular mixtapes, since I kinda try really hard to post content that happens to be cool and no one seems to be paying attention to. Plus, with potholes posting it before I did, I figured ‘ whats the point.’ I put it on the back-burner (with two writing projects due) and promised myself I would get to it within the week for my boy Dan.  And now I’m mad that I waited at all.

Stalley was already a popular favorite with all the music nerdy kids who love hip hop.  But with this  “Lincoln Way Nights” album and these beats… he’s put himself in the lead for my popular favorite (album references) right now. There really isn’t a track on this album that I have to skip over, which is the first sign of a great album. The second sign is the fact that I have favorites within 24 of listening to it, and they stay on repeat. “The Sound of Silence”, “Hercules”, “Pound”… there’s nothing but horn laced boom-baptacular greatness on this sh*t. Oh yeah… and if “She Hates The Bass…” get a new girlfriend.

With that said, go to Stalley’s Bandcamp right now, and download it. Its free. You have nothing to lose.

Forth...

So Danny Brown signed with Fools Gold. Its about time.

with one comment

I was a little late, but I fell in love with Danny Brown after his verse on “Round of Applause,” a track from Black Milk’s Album of The Year (accurate album title alert).  So after my girl Katie and the homie House Shoes chewed me out a few weeks ago for not having all of Danny’s mixtapes and previous workings, they quickly got me caught up that is the epic glory that is Danny Brown. With an aggressive vocal style, ill lyrics and even better punch lines, It only took me listening to The Hybrid and Hot Soup a few times for me to realize that he is a part of The Truth and The Future. The Way and The Light.
So no sooner than I find this dude and fall in love with his flow and delivery do I find out that he signs up with Fools Gold for a distribution deal. And he sounds excited to be there. Quote Danny and Swipe from iHipHop.com:

So Danny Brown just stopped by the office and revealed to me that he is signing with Fools Gold Records.  To be honest I was a little surprised, but that is a great look for him.  Since Cudder they have been a little quite (in hip-hop, that “Barbra Streisand” joint is killing it), and the Donnis signing was a misstep in my opinion.  A-Trak & Nick Catchdubs are excellent and at bringing music to people who don’t merely concentrate on the genre of hip-hop, and I think that although Danny is on some rappity rap sh*t he has the capability to appeal to people with diverse tastes in music.  Plus as Danny just eloquently told me, “Fool’s Gold has the bitches”.

So the future is looking bright for this kid right here. Should be good times. Find the links and enjoy.

p.s. If my photos aren’t loading right… its a side effect of the whole archival and moving of the website thing. Work with me. 🙂
